About Corum Consultancy

The Corum Consultancy was established in 1999 and is a UK plc. 

The Company consists of both employees and associates, who work together on strategy implementation programmes across every industry sector, in the UK, EU and internationally. All the people who work with us are experienced consultants and managers; we can bring together a wide range of functional and technical skills.  

Corum's founders were two management consultants who between them had over 25 years of experience in helping organisations to lead and manage transformations.  Over that time they saw that consulting was becoming commoditised with large firms unbundling their offer and requiring greater role specialisation from their staff.  This resulted in: 
​
  • Strategy consultants without practical experience of implementation- leading to unimplementable strategies.
  • Programme management consultants whose focus was the methodology and process rather than the content and outcome of what their programme was delivering- leading to bureaucracy and blind process compliance.
  • Change management consultants whose focus was "the soft stuff" that was neither content nor programme management- leading to line management and other consulting staff being able to abrogate responsibility for the impact of their actions.

Separating these three elements delivered a poor result for the client, but was great for selling more consultants.  Even if our consultants are fulfilling a specialised role on the client's team, they retain this broader perspective.  For transformations to work and be sustainable, people from within the client's business have to be involved every step of the way.
